DESCRIPTION OF COURSES
Animal CPR and First Aid Course for pet owners and animal professionals
If you are a pet groomer, dog/cat kennel owner, animal trainer, dog and cat breeder, animal health technician, pet shop employee, dog walker or sitter, this is the ideal course for you and a useful building took for your business.
As professionals, we have the responsibility to make sure that when pets are in our care they are well taken care of and safe. Your clients will be reassured and confident in leaving their pets with you knowing that you will know what to do in an emergency situation and when necessary, seek veterinary care where appropriate.
This course teaches you ;
- How to check for your pets normal vital signs and recognize signs of illness.
- Learn how to approach an injured animal, how to restrain an injured pet and transport to a veterinarian.
- You will learn what to do if your animal goes into cardiac arrest or stops breathing (CPR and artificial respiration techniques).
- Learn the signs of shock and what to do.
- Will learn first aid for choking, ,hemleic maneuver, drowning, hypothermia, frost bite, and hyperthermia emergencies.
- How to apply bandages and splints for fractures. , bone and joint injuries, hemorrhaging of wounds, internal bleeding and ear and eye injuries.
- Learn what to do if your pet is poisoned, has an allergic reaction, diarrhea, vomiting, or a diabetic emergency.
- Learn how to recognize hypoglycemia and signs of seizers in young or stress animals.
- Learn what to do during mating emergencies and birthing difficulties.
- Learn how to take care of new born kittens / puppies and orphans.
This 8 hour course is a hands on experience course where you will learn on our animal manikins and live animals. Our classes are kept small to provide maximum practice and individual attention. Our goal is that you will feel confident in applying first aid should an accident or emergency occurs. Your quick actions could save your pets life!

This is a refresher course where you will apply your first aid knowledge in simulated emergency situations at home or in the professional work environment.
This is a three hour practical course where your dog is welcome to attend.

Basic Care and First Aid for Bird Pet Owners
This course will teach you:
- What you need to know about housing, handling and feeding your bird to prevent injuries and sickness .
- Learn how to recognize the start of illness and provide immediate first aid care.
- How to transport a sick bird.
- Learn first aid for hemorrhaging emergencies (broken blood feather, cuts, bruises, foot injuries.)
- Learn CPR and artificial respiration.
- Poisons ( learn what foods and products can harm your bird)

First Aid course for kids( 7-13 years old) and Baby Sitters
This course will teach you:
- Learn canine language; how to approach an animal and when not to approach. An animal in pain can bite even if he/ she is your pet!
- Learn how to check for your pets heart beat and respiration.
- Learn to recognize the signs of illness.
- Learn how to stop bleeding and apply appropriate bandages.
- Learn how to transport or carry a sick or injured pet.
This is a 2 hour course that teaches the importance of safety when providing first aid to pets . " This is a practical on hands experience course where children learn and practice first aid techniques on our animal manikins and real animals.
